Born in the San Francisco Bay Area at a time when melody was king and playlists
were incredibly diverse, busbee grew up with an eclectic love for great music. He
first cut his teeth listening to the hymns played in church and the songs of Sesame
Street and The Electric Company. In his early years his dad would grab the guitar
and pick out the songs of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan.
His dad also had a great love for black gospel music and the rock and roll oldies.
His mom would later introduce him to the music of The Beatles, Peter Paul and Mary
and Glenn Miller. In his teens he would overhear the songs jumping out of his older
sister's boombox from artists like Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Poison and Bon Jovi.

busbee's first music making experiences began with the piano at age 7. Later he
would wind up playing trombone and studying jazz through his early college years.
He moved to Los Angeles a few years after college to pursue work opportunities
there. After a few stints with a couple insanely gifted producers (who were like
musical mentors to him) he began freelancing as a songwriter and producer.

He has worked with the likes of Mercury, Rascal Flatts, Shifty (Crazy Town),
Liz Phair, Elliot Yamin, Lady Antebellum, Tyler Hilton, Kesha, Natalie Cole,
Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra), Switchfoot, Smash Mouth, Project 86,
The Stunners, Cameron Jaymes, Kari Kimmel, Glen Philips and Rosie
Thomas and has had songs featured in many Film and Television projects.

busbee writes for Crosstown Songs, lives in Laurel Canyon, CA
and works out of his studio there called Baby Deer.
